hello every one,

My son loves to play the king's indian attack. he is now 12 years old and have been playing chess for 3 years now. he had some success but not enough as he had been crash many times by more mature players.

he insist on using the  opening as he feel comfortable with it and fits his style.

can you please help me explain the background of such opening, how to properly play it, its strong points, points of attack, weakness points and the usual line of attacks and if you could add more.

any comment will be most welcome and accepted thanks

You might want to get a pgn colleciton of Bobby Fischer's games.  The King's Indian Attack was one of his favorites.  He had a fair amount of success with it.

a book "starting out: king's indian attack" by John Emms published by EVERYMAN CHESS - you can buy it through amazon (look for new and used) for less than $7 + shipping - excellent book for someone who has been playing for about 3 years (like me)
