I have an OTB tournament coming up in a few days (the 21rst), and I was fortunate enough to fetch the opponents’ chess.com usernames. However, I have no clue how to actually prepare for a tournament - could someone explain in layman’s terms what exactly is prep, and if there is a process, or how you do it?
Look what your opponent openings are and develop responses to them. If you have their usernames you can look at their accounts and look at their previous games. Hope this helps.

Like I just learn the theory for the openings they play?
"How to prepare opening lines?" ++ Do not. What you prepare will not happen on the board. Better prepare yourself with some outdoor physical exercise to boost your stamina and thinking power.
