how to use and deal with birds opening as black and white

I was just thinking how a highly conceptual discussion of birds opening and the ideas behind it and relating every move to tactical ideas would be beneficial to lower rated players, such as myself, who don't have the best tactical ability, to understand the relationship between positional play and tactics, and yes we all understand that time would be better served by studying tactics, this is just a discussion with the goal of unifying the ideas behind openings, tactics, and positional play

my favorite response to the Bird is the Langheld Gambit...very entertaining for both sides.

As white, play the Parham instead. As black, play the e5 gambit and win in 10 moves.
