I built a free chess opening trainer — looking for feedback

Hey everyone,

I'm a hobby developer and chess player who kept forgetting opening lines after watching YouTube videos. So I built ChesSpire — it works like flashcards but for chess openings. You see a position, play the move, and the app tells you if you're right. Over time it focuses on the lines you keep getting wrong.

It has 20+ openings (Italian Game, Sicilian, Caro-Kann, King's Indian, Fried Liver, and more), each with dozens of variants. Every move has a comment explaining why it's played. You can also create your own openings and share them with others.

No ads, no subscriptions, no premium tier. Just a passion project.

Try it at chesspire.com — also available on the App Store (Android coming soon).

What openings would you like to see added? Any feedback is welcome!

Hey DIDI, thanks so much for the kind words! Alekhine's Defense is a great pick — it's definitely on the list now! 😄

Android is coming very soon, I promise it'll be worth the wait. I'll post here when it's ready so you'll be the first to know!
