I NEED AN OPENING

Sort:
AAAAAAAARHHH

I 2nd the Catalan. My favourite as white, while I'm trying to understand more of the accelerated dragon as black. Neither as a "I need to play exactly this", but both as a starting point/plan that evolves around the opponents play.

("Sincerely yours, Captain Obvious")

But yeah, those are the ones that gives me the best structure / positions out of the opening, and has given me a more solid gameplay. Was at 1000, and haven't played that much the last weeks, but am steadily climbing since I started this path.

Normally, I would make fun of you for saying this, but after seeing giri win with it today, I respect your judgement

Y’all be suggesting white side openings but almost all white openings gives you space.

KIA, Reversed Benoni, etc?

As white, I think the Ruy Lopez, Italian, King's gambit, Queen's gambit and Danish gambit if attacking is your style

As black, I think the Italian, Sicilian Najdorf, Sicilian Dragon, Englund gambit and Traxler counter attack (my favorite one against fried livers) if attacking is your style

MinhKiet2009

Also the Evans gambit for white

I highly recommend the ponziani opening. As a relatively new player it caught me off guard many times! Here's a good video showcase of the move - http://adfoc.us/5877211

I'd choose Queen's gambit, its the most fun grin.png

The Queen Elsa’s gambit because she becomes the gambit. She is already a frozen queen and the entire position is confusing.
Lego_Yodagaming

viena gambit or Vienna gamee

FutureGM_Casper

Danish gambit, literally just fulfill all your requirement, no pawn in the center but the bishops control all the squares. you have space and development (2 pieces faster than your opponent).

Attacking??

this is so called the most aggressive opening.
