Bd3 is actually perfectly legitimate. GothamChess likes it. But so does IM Alex Banzea and GM Niclas Huschenbeth. Even CFL made a course on it.

No we are not the same (notice that we have different ratings).
Maybe the computer sees equality. But it’s still practical and a valid option. The scotch gives equality, does that mean it’s a bad opening? No
