If you could move any piece to any open square on the board for your first move, where would you go?

I've thought about it, but I really can't think of any really strong move.

This is assuming you MUST move the piece to a clear square, and your second move will have all the regular rules applied to it.

What do you think?

KillaBeez

I have never seen a clear square before.  Only black and white. Laughing

Ke3, It's the new and improved bongcloud.

Maybe Raf3 or Rag3?

Anything too advanced is just going to lose time retreating.  At least that gets another piece into the attack that would take a long time to get there under normal circumstances.

Howabout 1. Bg5? kicking off the Trompowsky early.

If black plays 1...f6 you've sortof succeeded in weaking his kingside?

bondiggity

Bcb3?? lol dunno would be fun though.

HaZe905

the strongest move for this will most likely be a pawn move.. just one that secures everything well.. probably like 1.e6 or something..

 I agree.

hijrawinata

d4 agresif opening for both of black and white.

TheGrobe

I think I'd get a bishop out -- save the tempo that would otherwise be required moving a pawn to open a line for it and also not commit to an irreversible pawn move.  As white maybe Bb3.

SilverPanic

I'd play 1. Qxe8#!!
