I had exactly the same feeling... 
White: KIA (works against almost anything) Catalan (Similar to KIA because fianchettoed bishop) and Reti (also very versatile)
Black: KID (versatile), e6 (French or Nimzo-Indian depending on White's first move), and Center-Counter
White I'll take e4, d4, and c4 (hey, those are the only 3 openings I play with any regularity anyways 
). As black I'll take e6, e5, and Nf6. I'd love to have a 4th opening as black to give me access to the sicilian... but I guess I can transpose into it following 1... e6 if I'm careful about move order.
