Is the Grand Prix Attack Good against the sicilian?

1.e4 c5 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.f4 and Black should just play 3...g6 4.Nf3 Bg7 5.Bb5 Nd4 6.0-0 a6 followed by 0-0,e6,Ne7,d5 in some order, for a good game. Depending on what White does of course.
I'm no opening theory expert or even have the kind of playing stats you do, but I believe your line with 2...Nc6 allows the immediate 3.Bb5, which I got the impression is supposed to be some kind of improvement over the immediate 3.f4. Granted, I haven't read up much on this line, so perhaps you know more about this than I do.
The move order 1.e4,c5 2.Nc3,g6 3.f4,Bg7 4.Nf3,Nc6 5.Bb5 is another way to reach the same position you mentioned that avoids the 3.Bb5 lines (although probably allows something else that I'm unaware of at the moment).
In any case, I agree that the 5.Bb5 and 5...Nd4 lines are one of white's problem areas in the Grand Prix Attack.
Yep, I think you're right actually, avoiding 3.Bb5 is desirable. Been playing too many bullet games where the order doesn't matter probably :)

How I usually like meeting the closed Sicilian depending on the move order with great play for both sides:
this is teh much better way

Yes, any opening, played properly, should lead to an OK game for Black. That's kind of what my point was - these moves should be Black's general plan to get a good position from the opening.
Black could play inferior moves, and get a difficult game, surely, so all openings do not lead to a good game.
Again, yes, White has a few options, and Black shouldn't move on autopilot, but I fail to see why this is the "key", as you put it. Far from it - in my opinion, Black should be able to get these moves in against a variety of White move orders and be excellently placed, and this is why I hold the opinion that the GPA is not White's most dangerous line.
You are right about that, but then everything you said about the Grand Prix can be said about any other opening as well!
It's will be an exellent openning if you know the plans
you can use Gm roman's dvds
they are very good

I prefer Bg2 before f4, keeping to the Closed. Any Black thoughts about d5 must be delayed, and the main Grand Prix attacking thrust (f4-f5) remains a theme for White. The game is slower and more positional than the GP.

Am I bothered though. Against players who play the Nadjorf can be quite effective. For example Anand v Gelfand 1996.

Sorry to bring up something from May, but it seems to me, the Bb5 variation seems like a fools move. The correct entry should be Bc4, is it not?
