i've been playing it for years, with many quick wins in under 20 moves, but hey!!! i'm a pathetic chessplayer compared to you, right dude ?

Those quick wins were because of your better play.

I have games where I have won in less move in the Siclian Defense.

i'm a completely retarded chessplayer, i don't play better than anyone, especially you, and you're right, the Sicilian is very passive, by the way i never said how many moves

The result of your game has nothing to do with the opening you played.

The Benko Gambit isn't aggresive.

It's actually a very dull opening.

it's in fact a quite aggressive opening, certainly when i play it...

i'm beginning to wonder why i bothered defending you in your thread

The Benko Gambit isn't aggresive at all.

White can easily just castle and have an easy game.

It's more of a positional sacrifice.

it's aggressive

It's not aggressive just because you make a few pawn sacrifices.

I would rather be white in this position.

The benko gambit is better for Black, it is aggressive; why?

You sacrifice a pawn but in return, Black have an open a-file for rook and bishop. Black's plan is to break the pawn center for White.

the confusion here is what the defintion of aggressive is.
The benko is positionally aggressive not so much tactically.
There are openings like the pure benoni or kings indian that are more tactically aggressive

Sicilains vary since you have the taimanov that is a "solid" siclian and you have dragons that are tactically aggressive

aggressive is something that challenges your opponents to make very accurate moves. The benko does so up to a fairly high level (around gm) when it start to be less challengning. I talked to GM Nyback quite a bit and he played the benko a lot as a youth. He said he would be very willing to play it against an IM but less so against a GM.

Yes, you rarely see it on the GM level.

In fact, I haven't seen a single game lately where this opening has been employed.

I never said the opening is bad and I have never called you a bad player.

Stop getting your panties in a knot.

Tony, I don't know the names of hardly any openings, but the context (and your previous comments) would not have me doubting you. However, you may be talking (writing?) to a wall.

If you don't understand an opening, why bother commenting?

OK, big brain. Let me spell it out for you. Just because I don't know the names of openings does not mean I will not recognize them. Or, understand them.

Look at my rating. Yes, I suck, but if I knew nothing of openings I would be 1200, tops.

Maybe Chris is right.

1500+ isn't a bad rating.

Why would it suck?

It is occasionally used but as a surprise weapon by Gms who feel they need to catch an opponent off guard not a repertiore mainstay

I am getting forgetful in my old age but maybe I can remember a game or 2.

some "Ok" dudes played it not to long ago

Why would he be a patzer for playing an opening?

patzers play openings

(after ciljettu, this is just impossible to believe)

Really? I never knew that.

I taught the benko to my students so I have a healthy respect for it. I have learned the accepted version isnt so fun. there is a b6 line that I like only a small edge but annoying for black who sorta expects a standard setup.
