Nothing is a joke. You keep calling opening jokes until a 2400 comes, plays all junk and whoops your @$$. I have experienced the same thing multiple times on multiple sites. I never call any opening joke except the englund mainline.
This is the main idea, in the King's Fianchetto, we want to control the diagonal line with our bishop, the idea of fianchetto-ing a king is to allow the king to obliterate every single piece on the diagonal like a laser beam.
There was a candidate master, or higher rated player at the mall chess club I used to play in years ago that I played twice. The first time, he developed his queens knight then retreated it, and just kept doing that over and over until he decided to attack. The second time, he just advanced ALL of his pawns one rank while i developed a stonewall until i had no choice but to attack whatever i thought was the best pawn
