Where is the knight going from c7?
kavalek defense
I suppose It's ideal on c7 because it protects d5, doesn't block the light squared bishop as opposed to d7, and can support a minority attack or a pawn storm on the queenside.
p.s. please pretend that made sense.
this is actually an alternative way of playing the De Bruycker Defense 1 d4 Na6 2 e4 c6 (and a bit more committal), which i have played successfully with both colors for years, off and on. the Knight eyes c5 and e6, and from those squares anything is possible.
i recommend this kind of opening for players who are already good tacticians and want to exercise their strategic imagination.
The idea is that if BxN, then Q-a5+. The knight willo redirect to c7.
