well if your interested in openings there are many books on that subject and a lot have sections on the kings indian so thats the way i would go
King's Indian Attack
There is a book called " How to think ahead in chess " I think it was by redi and horwitz. It has s simmilar type of oppening in it called the stonewall attack. The book also has some coverage of the sicillion. hm....I just noticed the difference. The stonewall looks much like that with a queens pawn oppening. The pawns would be at c3 d4 and it is still a goal to push that pawn to e4 and maybe even e5.
this structure can be reached also by playing 1.e4 not the barcza move order , in this case u can see John Emms book STARTING OUT THE KINGS INDIAN ATTACK
The John Emms book also deals with reaching KIA positions from 1. Nf3.
ya but its not the main theme of the book like in dunnington, the other one treated as a strategy from a to z
Here are some KIA websites:

http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessopening?eco=A08
http://www.kings-indian-attack.de/

http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chesscollection?cid=1001207
http://www.chessage.com/database/opbrowser.php/eco/A07
The German site has a compilation in CB format of games, and the Stoyko website had some very nicely annotated games in which he made the strategical demands very clear.
I wonder if forum readers would be interested in a KIA thematic tournament? I am not a premium member but would be willing to become one if there were interest in forming a study group/tournaments around the opening.
thanks a lot, the links could become very helpful^^ I would be of course also be interested in a theme tournament!

True, but the Dunnington book is enormously expensive. £367 for a new copy on Amazon! I am glad I got my copy last year when the local library sold off a load of less popular books.
wow it reached that amount ?, i purchased it long ago it was much cheaper.....ok let me tell u a secret( but u will owe me the difference in price
) there is another book by the same author just few years earlier , beleive it or not its almost the same , just few changes which only matters if u r in master level or above, possibly, its called HOW TO PLAY THE KIA by Angus Dunnington its price is less than 15 dollars as far as i remember, u will not regret by getting that book , almost no difference between the 2
I got a copy of The Ultimate KIA last year for £2 from my local library. I now know what a bargain I got!
Hi Leon...
The best thing I think would be to set up a KIA Group and then set up a tournament.
I recommend we start from the French-type defense to KIA first, since that seems to be the most critical line.
Leo has started the tournament, so join...
It made the most sense to start with the French-type KIA....
There is a book called " How to think ahead in chess " I think it was by redi and horwitz. It has s simmilar type of oppening in it called the stonewall attack.
"How to Think Ahead in Chess" by I. A. Horowitz and Fred Reinfeld offered a repertoire based on the following:
For White: The Stonewall Attack (1 d4 2 e3 3 Bd3 4 f4 5 Nf3 6 Nbd2)
For Black vs. 1 e4: Dragon Sicilian (1 e4 c5 2 Nf3 Nc6 3 d4 cd 4 Nd4 Nf6 5 Nc3 g6)
For Black vs 1 d4: Queen's Gambit Declined - Lasker Variation (1 d4 d5 2 c4 e6 3 Nc3 Nf6 4 Nf3 Be7 5 O-O O-O 6 Bg5 Ne4)
I don't see any relevant similarities between the King's Indian Attack and the Stonewall Attack, but maybe I'm just missing something (wouldn't be the first time).

here's what it looks like
I started playing the Barcza opening as white(1. Nf3 2.g3 3.Bg2 4. 0-0), which often transposes to a Kings Indian Attack. I wonder if there is somebody who knows about it and could give me some tips, maybe tutoring me in some games also? Could somebody recommend me a book about it?
