Black has lost two tempi to gain a very solid position that's what happen.

So you believe that the Scandinavian is good? You're probably a pupil of this English coach, (forgot his name)

sndeww

I think that it's ok. It doesn't offer black real opening advantage, but white can't really go all ham on the black king either since black responds to white's development well.

chamo2074

Well, alright we have different opinions

dude it literally transposes into some caro-kann positions sometimes so annoying, ngl

chamo2074

ngl?

chamo2074

Also which line are you talking about? Probably Qa5 right?

both Qa5 and Qd8. I think Qa5 is better in terms of solidity but Qd8 is almost just as good

I would go for this plan:

  • Invariable developement
  1. The king: Is gonna castle queenside
  2. The D.S bishop is gonna go to d3
  3. The queen is gonna go to e2
  4. The bishop can develop depending on where it is needed in the game
  5. The rook stays on h1
  • If black plays Nf6:
  • Piece development:
  1. I would play f3 to solidify e4 and prevent Ng4
  2. My knight would go to e2 or stay where it is for tempi reasons

Pawn storms: g4 h4 h5 to attack g6, and then Bh6 hxg6 Bxg7 Qh6+

  • If opponent develops his knight elsewhere:

You can choose between Pawn f3 or Knight f3.

Pawn storm: h4 h5 hxg4 Bh6 Bxg7 Qh6+
