Nobody that knows the Latvian Gambit plays 8...Nc6 any more. 8...Nf6 and 8...Be7 are improvements over 8...Nc6. I am not preaching that the Latvian is good. Just pointing out that these are improvements.
Back when I used to use the Latvian as a "Last Round in a Must Win Situation Only" defense, I played 8...Nf6. But 8...Be7 is OK too!
Thanks everyone! I was inspired by Miodrag Perunovic's Video, and it seems like he covered everything including 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 f5 3. NxP Qf6 4. d4 d6 5. Nc4 fxe 6. Nc3 Qg6 7. f3 exf 8. Qxf Nf6. I made this thread to actually find the hardest variations against the lLatvian, so when I played it I would know some hard variations to play against. As for exf5, I think Nc6 preparing d5 is good.
whats best way to play against Latvian gambit as white.
