Sorry. I had to make the joke.

Anyways, a lot of times I’ll get bored and continue playing the best moves(using suggestion arrows) and I noticed - sometimes 1. c4 pops up, and it got me like WHAT?!?!?!! Why is this suggested?? So I started studying it and holy there are like 50 bazillion lines to play. Are there some lines that are more common / applicable more often than others? Also, what is best to play against the English Opening?

Thanks a lot! :>

It is a great opening, but as it often transpose to other openings I will recommend you to only play it when you have some experience with 1.d4 openings.

With Black the answer will depend a lot on what you play against 1.d4.
