What's the Italian Anti Fried Liver?

A stupid terminology, adopted by chess dot com openings database.

OMG, that 3...h6 stuff doesn't deserve a name, other than perhaps, the blunderful variation. It's known to be terrible and I even gave a lecture on it at my chess club some years ago, because so many people played it and got what they had coming. (4. d4 is best, and the advantage in development and space is better than being up a pawn.

Instead of this garbage, people should learn the main lines of the Two Knights: 3....Nf6 4. Ng5 d5 5. exd5 Na5 and so on.

First, you take an Italian: 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4

The Fried Liver Attack is when White plays Ng5 hoping for a fork on f7. The Anti-Fried Liver means Black plays 3. ...h6 to prevent that.

The actual "fried liver" starts only after 3. ... Nf6 4. Ng5 d5 5. exd5 Nxd5?? Then White has the options of Nxf7 right away or d4 and sac next move (the Lolli Attack).

I personally think the hyper accelerated London and the jobava are better than the London, but personal choice matters

Those are variations of London

Not really , the jobava-rapport system goes under a few different names and the only similarities to the London are 1d4 and bf4. the jobava is defined by nc3 which is a pretty counter intuitive move. It is a system in that there are 7-10 “best responses” after move 3 , and each line has its own theme. But it is not like the London system where you just put your pieces in the same setup no matter what your opponent does. In my opinion it is far superior to the London system.

The French Defense is better than the London System, right?

Ahntan123
Ahntan123

usually followed by: Nc3, Nf6, D3, Bc5, O-O, O-O.

Hard to compare, since one is a White opening and the other a Black defense.

True

I like the French Defense

BOTH ARE SOLID.

People who talk trash about the London are just mad because it prevents them from playing thier pet defense.

And the Caro-Kann is a main line ... good luck dissing it

Real!

The Caro's better than the London

And my cat can beat up your dog. What's the point of this comment?

Yet another ~1000 rated player, who thinks that openings play a role (any role) on his performance.

Openings do play a role on performance. Setting up positions where pieces are coordinated and you see the most common responses helps you to build on the best tactics in those positions.

The middle game is where it's determined, but if you go into the middle game at a significant disadvantage, it's not likely to end well.

Openings will allow you losing by blundering everything from better, or winning positions and that's all.

The opening principles are more than enough for new players. The focus is by far at getting a grip of tactics.
