Max Lange: 9...g6

Way off topic now, but no biggie as my original question was answered, I found a couple of games I played against a NM in Ottawa back around 2000, rapid games against Kevin Pacey, even though both were draws, they had that chaotic Max Lange look to them and were fun to play

Why do engines prefer Ng4 over d5 for black?

It says after d5 that white is much better..

Well i don't see the appeal in blacks position either..

Just played in an active tourney a few weekends ago and was able to test out the position after 8. fxg7, though made a few inaccuracies, I still managed to win.

Ah, thanks for that reference, I found the game online, it's good to know Karsten Mueller played this, will need to take a good look at 13. b3 instead of my Qe2
