Moller attack, uncommon black reply

I've played the moller for quite a while on the internet even though it's dubious however today I encountered a move I've never seen before and sure of myself it's inferior I managed to promptly lose the game against it.

Black's 9th move was the surprise for me, usually black either plays 9..Bf6 or 9..Ne5/Na5 which both lead to the same thing. How am I supposed to play against this 9th move from black, here is what I did in the game..... all of it was rubbish, the pawn on f7 seems like a bad idea to take.

10. dxc6 dxc6 11. Bxf7+ Kxf7 12. Ne5+ Ke8 13. Qh5+ g6 14. Qf3

White threatens to regain his piece by Qxe4 and have the better of the attack. Black has to defend the piece and the mate on f7. If 14. ... Nf6 15. Bg5 with Rd1 coming looks good.

Cheers for the fast reply, 12.Ke8 doesn't look forced though, what happens on Ke6? It seems suicidal but it should require very exact play from white to exploit.

Well, there may be a lot of variations, but white has most of his pieces coming into play and the king is exposed. Here's the first idea that came to mind:

12. ... Ke6 13. Qg4+ Kxe5 14. Qf4+ Ke6 15. Qxe4+ Kf7 16. b4 Bb6 17. Bb2

Not everything there is forced either. At some point you have to just believe in white's attacking position -- and execute over the board!

10. Qe2 looks really interesting. Just a suggestion~

What does white have after Qe2 Qe7 dxc dxc? Can anyone with a database check if 9.Ba5 has ever been played?

I like the 11.Qa4 suggestion, I'm not too attracted to the bishop sac...not saying it's no good but I don't usually go for speculative attacks. I'd check stuff with an engine but I don't have one.

These lines are very old (not computer-checked) and probably not worth remembering, but they give an idea about how to conduct W attack.
(Off topic: in the first post you mention 9...Na5 among the normal defenses, i thought it was considered a bad move leading to a big plus for W.How do you play against it?)

after 17... Re8, it looks like white has nothing for the Bxf7+ sac.

after 17. ... Re8 18. Qxh7 and it still looks like white is doing well to me.

@bresando Thanks, Qa4 does indeed look good.

Against Na5 I play bxc as I do against Ne5 and play continues in both lines with Nxc4 and Qd4 where black can go very wrong by trying to hold on to the extra piece. Am I supposed to play Bd3 against Na5 or what?

Yes, as far as i know Bd3! is considered very strong

Agang it's not a question of remembering the precise variation, just play Bd3 and i can tell from experience that W position is full of attaccking potential.
