Your selection of openings shouldn't first depend on finding an idiot to play. Once you get paired against someone with his wits about him, you're done for.

D: But... but... but... gambits and gimmicks! D:

They're so fun!

Fun!?! If chess were meant to be fun, it wouldn't be such torment.

why would you play chess if it weren't fun?

Everyone has missed out the Ivena and Putsdi openings that originated in the tiny province of Larf in  Norway that continues to be unsuccessful in winning independence.

Some kind of sado-masochistic impulse, I guess. Either to torment myself through the futile attempt to play perfectly and win or to inflict greater psychological torment on my opponent.

Many players have used it including Kramnik and Topalov That's why I said basically . I'm referring to stuff like the Fred, the Latvian, the Schliemann, and the Rousseau.  The Dutch is an exception.

While I wouldn't call i gimmicky it sure gets wild, I present you the traxler, not for the faint of heart and needs a lot of studying. I know no other opening where white can get simply destroyed by one false move.

Make sure to check at least the first game I linked!
