most hated chess openings

as white the sicilian kan, as black the kings gambit

Eric's Solutions to Hated Openings:

Petroff: Play the 5.Nc3 line. Lot's of attacking opportunities and no symmetrical structures. Shirov and Morozevich play this all the time...look up some of their games.

French: Man up and play 3.Nc3. The winawer is tons of fun, and the classical rules after a quick e5, queenside castling, and a kingside pawnstorm. Very sicilian-like in its ideas.

Annoying d-pawn openings: Go buy a book, learn the theory, and kick the crap out of them. The trick with these openings as black is to play like you're white! If white isn't going to fight for the initiative then black should take it!

I hate all the stonewall stuff.. never really know how to bite those pawns leaving me only one squere in the middle

great erik's with different spellings think alike....

But, I always played kings gambit, vienna, and bishops opening(Of course after I "learned" the ruy and all that as a newcomer to chess)

Maybe I will have to look at those games and give 2.n-f3 a go again.

And yes n-c3 is fun.  Although I have been playing around with the exchange winawer.  Unlike the regular exchange french there is a lot of fun to be had in that position

The Slav and Semi slav!

ericmittens

The slav I can understand, but the semi-slav is probably the most interesting opening in chess right now!

The Wandering King:

Mendyal

Against the french i liked to play the Réti Gambit and the game quickly becomes a total mess.

I dislike mostly those Nc3,Nc6 on the first moves.

That has got to be the stupidest opening I have ever seen.

rigamagician

The Queen's Gambit Declined Bondarevsky-Makogonov-Tartakower and the Slav Exchange.  Not a terribly big fan of the Petroff either.

ericmittens

The exchange slav is pretty awful yea, and the exchange french.

yes, though I don't see anything to hate about it.  Looks delightful to play against.
