Guys which one is better for the intermediate player like me? So the line goes 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.nd2 nf6 4. e5 nfd7 5.bd3 c5 6.c3 nc6, now should I go with ne2 or ngf3? I been experimenting with ngf3 and the pawn sac line but never really got much success, so in my recent games I went with 5.ngf3 c5 6.c3 nc6 7. be2 qb6 8. nb3. Then I learned that I can just save the hustle and just go 5. bd3 c5 6.c3 nc6 7.ne2 and my pawn is very safe. So should I switch the lines up or keep experimenting and learning the theory of ngf3?
@Ilampozhil25 after 7.ne2 qb6 you can go 8.nf3 and the pawn is guarded , but in the ngf3 line you are basically obligated to just sac it with 8.O-O cxd4 9. cxd4 nxd4 10.nxd4 qxd4 11. nf3. You can't go something like 8. nb3 to guard the pawn because ... c4 just forks the 2 pieces.
