Need an alternative to "Chess Openings for White, Explained"

I'm looking for an alternative to "Chess Openings for White, Explained", by Lev Alburt.

I like the fact that it provides a thorough opening book for a player to study and apply.

I dislike the fact that it is based upon the Scotch Gambit.  While the Scotch Gambit may be sound, it does not fit with my playstyle.  It is a bit too sharp for me, and I am umcomfortable with the black bishop-white pawn interaction on white's queenside.  Essentially, the Scotch Gambit is a bit too open for my taste and playstyle.

Can anyone recommend a book that provides a semi-complete opening book, but that does not rely upon the Scotch Gambit.

 Thank you in advance.

Do you want a book dealing with specifically one opening, a few, or many?
Munchies
how about "Winning with the Black pieces"?

Or you could play d4!
