I play the english as white and am trying to find a weapon against c4 e6. I don't want to play queen's gambit or french steiner variation. I want to try to play the neo-catalan with 1. c4 e6 2. g3 d5 3. nf3. Does anybody know any player who play this often or resources which explain how to play this?
Not in any particular move order but after you just stated b3 protects your c4 pawn, sometimes you’re just gonna have to play d4. It really depends. You could end up playing a sort of reversed benoni, or playing for Ne1, f4, playing for a kingside attack. One modern way in these lines is you getting hanging pawns on c4 and d4. The variations are very numerous and it becomes better to just play for a queens gambit instead lol. But I like all those variations
