New Opening Idea: Welsh Opening (e4, e5, g3)

Hello. I am a 700 Chess player so I don’t have the experience enough to decide whether this is viable enough. I just found this out and it might already have a name, but here’s my analysis.

With b3 White prepares to set up a fianchetto and defend the e4 pawn. Black for the most part develops normally with knights or even d5, attacking the center and potentially setting up a central queen.

Pros: sets up a powerful bishop on the h1-a8 diagonal, and allows plenty of light squares open for the queen and bishop. Also gives the king a good chance to castle when needed

Cons: significantly weakens the kingside pawn structure. black can contest the center with d4 or Nf6. White doesn’t have the most firm initial control.

Like I said, I’m a 700 and I don’t really know how to really get in depth for this opening, but I do think interesting games can come out of doing it. I would appreciate feedback on the opening and giving insight into the strategy of an opening, it’ll help me.

g3 goes much better with d4 or c4. The pawn in e4 blocks the bishop's diagonal and it creates weaknesses in your kingside pawn structure. With e4 e5 there is a critical situation in the center, as both pawns and both kingsides can be attacked, so you don't want to make a slow move. Plus that bishop has good squares at c4 and b5.

I would play 2 ... f5 against that. White winds up playing the Kings Gambit as black, and sort of down a move, as you need to fianchetto the bishop. IMO that creates the most pressure and potential attack. You could play  2 ... Nf6 or d5. In any case, white winds up playing as black and sort of down a move. The fianchettoed bishop would defend the pawn on e4, but you don't really want to be defending initially as white.

It just ends up looking like a g3 vienna where black has more choices against you like 2..d5! for example. Playable but equalizes too quickly and whatever independent significance it can have compared to the g3 vienna (like ,c3-d4 ideas for example) is not that great.

I don't see how it usually transposes to a Vienna after 2 ... f5 or d5. You also wouldn't play g6 as black against the King Gambit or Center Game. Black should be at least equal  after either move to open the center against the slow move.

There is a similar opening (konstantinopplsky variation)

1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.g3

I have played it in some otb games and a positive score, but there are certain lines, that equalise imidiatelly.
