Thanks

I don't play the Evans (I play c3 d4 against GP), so I was using the lichess database to make informed decisions. After 7.Qb3, the position had been reached 4 times by players of lichess elo 1800+ (so like 1600+ on chess.com ) playing in a rapid or classical format. In every one of those games black went with 7...c2+. Although I do agree that developing Evans style is best, because avoids little traps like mine by just being solid.

Analysis of the gambit. In some of the more tempting (for black) lines, white is actually doing OK. By good play, though, black is up 2-3 pawns with only small compensation for white.

This is a game I played against the Fundy bot with this gambit (using best line for white). It was overall very drawn until Fundy blundered all his pawns. As you can see, I don't think this works very well against higher elo opponents or in longer time controls, or even rapid.

it already exists... it's the scotch game haxo gambit
It's not.
Are you telling me that this gambit is this? https://www.chess.com/openings/Scotch-Game-Scotch-Gambit-Haxo-Gambit
No. I do get where you might have gotten confused, though, because analysis says it's the Haxo. The analysis does not care what happens after book moves, so even if the position is wildly different, if at one point it was the same, it will be that.
Yes, I know what a transposition is, so you tell me, are the 2 games below the same game?
Like I said. Same end result, very different means of getting their
