Get yourself a book about the Chigorin defence. There are lots of transpositions. Tricky and tactical opening but it is poßible to use as black only.
Opening consideration for black: Nc6 against everything

I can tell you that 1...Nc6 against everything is not a good idea.
1.b4, what I actually play, is one case where 1...Nc6 is terrible. It gives White his desired moves for free.
In the Alekhine, 1.e4 Nf6 2.e5 Nd4 3.c4 Nb6 4.d4 d6 5.f4, the argument is White is over-extended. I HIGHLY disagree, but at least a logical basis is applied.
In the Sokolsky, White's strong point is often b5. The space on the queenside, making it hard to develop for Black's Queenside pieces, and winning virtually all pawn races, is what this opening is all about. The downside is slow development.
Well, after 1.b4 Nc6?, Black is forcing White to make a move he WANTS to make. 2.b5! Nd4, but now another COMMON move, 3.e3, blocking the diagonal to f2, opening up the Bishop to protect b5, and oh by the way, GAINING ANOTHER TEMPO ON THE KNIGHT!, only helps White. Now, depending on where the Knight goes, White can proceed from there, in most cases playing 4.Bb2. Black's position sucks!
rin. Den öppningen liksom 1.g4 behöver besvaras på sitt separata sätt. Inget fungerar mot allt, men vissa mot nästan allt.
Sorry. Wrote in Swedish. 1.b4 and 1.g4 needs their own answer but they are short and easy. and good for black. Do no worry. Play throgh many Chigorin games played at your level and get a feeling for the position you will end up in before you decide.
Hey everyone. I recently met with a 2000+ rated USCF player who told me he plays Nc6 against everything black plays. I was wondering if anyone had some theory against this. I am considering this because I need something to play for black against. 1.e4 and since this player is quite good, I thought I should consider it. Please feel free to put lines possible lines after playing Nc6 for black. From what I understand, there are some good attacking chances, and that a lot of the lines transpose into similar things. I figure an opening repertoire that can be played against everything will save me time in opening study and let me focus on endgame, middlegame, tactics, etc. Thanks!
