I'm trying to buff up my openings for my OTB play. I'd like to get some games in the openings I'm trying to build my repertoire around. What I was thinking I would do is post a list of the openings and specific variations and put it out there for anyone who considers themselves comfortable with those lines. Challenge me!
As White: I play e4.
I've bolded my priorities, but I'm looking to work on the following: Italian game (more specifically Evan's Gambit) Sicilian Rossolimo and Moscow. Sicilian Accelerated Dragon Sicilian Taimanov (and transpositions to Scheveningen that avoid Bb5 lines)
French Tarrasch. I really want to get a ton of games in this opening. The French is definitely a weak spot in my experience and preparation. Caro Kann 3 f3. Or maybe the Panov. I can't decide which will be my main line. Alekhine's. I never seem to get enough practice against Alekhine's. One of the locals at the club I play in uses it all the time. I'm not so worried about Petroff and Scandinavian, but it wouldn't hurt either.
With Black I play Pirc. I'd love to get creamed in the Austrian time and again until I get used to it. I've also been thinking about picking up Petroff as a surprise weapon, which means I might face the King's Gambit too. Anyone play Vienna?
Against d4 I play Nimzo. I haven't had anyone play 3 Nf3 yet, so I could really use some practice in Queen's Indian Defence too.
I have no preparation at all for c4, f4, or KIA.
So yeah. If any of these openings are your favorites or variations you would like to work on too, let's put something together. I figure we could play game after game until we're totally sick with it.
