haha seriously?
You're meant to be recommending openings to an amatuer, not anand.
That is possibly the most insane repertoire I can think of, some of the most theoretical and complicated systems in the game.
OP: Play 1.e4, probably go for the italian
Against 1.e4 play 1..e5, theres plenty of systems there, choose whichever you feel fits you best.
Against 1.d4 I recommend you play the queens gambit declined, probably the tarrasch variation is best, both in terms of producing interesting games at our level and in the lessons you may learn from it.

Play to win or don't play at all!
If you think playing the KID, najdorf and Catalan is going to make you a winning player..you're in for a rude awakening.
Telling a newbie to play the KID is like telling a new driver to drive a 20m truck.
"It works for me" does not count as a serious counter-argument.
How can you get to 1600 on here without knowing what you like to play?
What good does asking others who don't know you at all for opening advice do?
Please, don't take the opening that serious. To do it accurate is beyond our capacity. If you know how, deviate from theory as fast as you can. Then you both have to play using your own insights and your are not playing a virtual grandmaster anymore.
In the mean time, play sound moves according to general opening principles.
Learning one opening is already serious business, yet to think that you can study five openings for each within a short period, shows that you do not know how much you are asking of yourself. Recently I read an article on chess.com about double pawns, their strenghts and weaknesses. Immediately after that I won a game (not on this side) using that information. That might be more practical right now.
Anyway, good luck in your tournament (and have fun).
Another recommendation I'd make is not to learn 5 openings, even when you are ready to expand, but limit yourself to 2, and expand within. For example, I play 1.d4 and 1.g3 as White, 1...g6 and 1...e5 against 1.e4 and 1...g6 and 1...d5 against 1.d4 as Black.
You might think that you are limiting yourself to 2 openings and 2 defenses, but really, you aren't. Let's say you were a Najdorf player. You could learn both the ...e6 and ...e5 lines. A French player could learn the Winawer, Classical, MacCutcheon, Steinitz, and Rubinstein against 3.Nc3. A Queen's Gambit Declined player can learn the Tartakower, Lasker, and Orthodox.
You don't have to play 5 different openings to have a diverse repertoire. It's a lot easier to expand knowledge within an opening, and learn 5 variations, than it is to learn 5 completely different openings. I promise you learning the Chigorin, Breyer, Zaitsev, Open, and Berlin variations of the Ruy Lopez is less work than learning the French, Caro-Kann, Sicilian, 1...e5, and the Modern Defense against 1.e4.
That is so unfair. I always played the KID, even when I was a beginner and a little kid. I only had one opening book and that's the only opening it covered. Did I get slaughtered with black? No.
I do agree asking other people for opening suggestions, as a completely open question, is ridiculous. Ask for something concrete you have a problem with.

I don't know if you claim you play this as White or Black, but I will say this.
The London System is for weasels. It's the only opening I never have and never will play. I've even played the Colle, Torre, Trompowsky, Veresov, etc. The London System is for people that don't even want to play chess.
Second, White's 4th move is HORRIBLE. You don't develop the Bishop out to f4, and then block the escape square on g3.
Third, Black's play is bad here. Nc6 is a mistake, and Be7 is a mistake. White's Dark-Squared Bishop is absolutely silly sitting there. Why allow White to trade it off?
I'd never play this garbage as White, and if you tried to play this against me, and I have Black, one of 2 things will happen:
1. I will respond to 1.d4 with 1...g6, and the London System is horrible against this line.
2. I will respond with 1...d5, and after your 2.Bf4, I play 2...e6, then 3.Nf3 Nf6, and now after 4.g3, Black plays 4...Be7! intending moves like Nbd7 and either c6 or c5, or else an immediate ...c5 intending ...Nc6 after that if in the given scenario, White capturing on b8 doesn't help him, and just weakens him on the light squares.
Also, by the way, it's doubled pawns, not stacked pawns!
i do hav loads of chess books, videos(foxy chess openings135vols,romans series100 vols),softwares(fritz13,chess king).but i dont know how 2 get much of them...
1. I will respond to 1.d4 with 1...g6, and the London System is horrible against this line.
People spend their spare time learning an opening to play in their chess games because they dont actually want to play chess, what?
I do agree with the 1..g6 point, one of the many reasons I like the modern. However something you should realise is that the london does not necessarily have to be played against every first move, nor should it be.
I play 1.d4 with my second move depending entirely on what black plays, many decent london players will follow 1..g6 with e4 and go into a 150 style opening.
hi opticnerve variation was same but there typical exchange of bishops included....this is one of roman's lab series lesson for black.....
hello everyone, please help me as i am playing my 1st international tournament u2100 elo, guide me for openings for white & black atleast five each please do help me....
