How about you scrap the idea of having the smaller groups, and have discussions on certain openings in the head group? I'd hate to be the only member in chessisgood's Scandinavian Defense study group.

They are Tournaments with a 'prize' for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but they are un-rated specifically so that players can explore options without losing ratings.

I would like to join the group, definitely.
I am not only interested in studying the openings currently in my repertoire, but also learning about other types of positions.
As for my repertoire, it's something like this:
Benoni, Lasker defense, Nimzo-Indian, Caro-Kann, Sveshnikov, O'Kelly, Dragon, Dutch with Black
e4 openings as White: exchange Ruy, Scotch game, Italian game, Moscow/Rossolimo, open Sicilians, closed Sicilian, advance variations of CK and French, Austrian attack agains Pirc and usually also the main lines against the Alekhine....
but as I've said, I'd also gladly participate in discussions on topis of KID and the semi-Slav... so that's not a problem :)
Well, im interested in the Scandinavian, Closed Sicilian, Englund Gambit and Giuco Piano. So count me into the group! :)

Opening Study Groups:
Greetings everyone, some of you may have seen that recently, I have begun to create some study groups, many of which focus on the opening stage of the game. For this reason, I have come up with the idea to form a group encompassing many smaller study groups which will be created.
Here is how it will work: players may join the group, and then visit whichever openings they want to learn about. We seriously suggest posting your complete repertoire, so that we can get a view of how you play. If you have no repertoire selected, we have a few pre-made that give you plenty of choices.
Please note that this is a serious group. Trolls who want to advertise openings such as the Bongcloud are not allowed here. We want to study openings so that we can form a strong and hard-working repertoire.
