Drop your favourite openings for black and white, i’m sick of using the same kings indian every game and want to learn something new but can’t decide.

Youre losing in 12 moves.

You leave way too much time on your clock.

You miss simple tactics.

You hang material and you miss capturing material.

Openings are the last thing you need to be wasting time on. But I also know that that is not what you want to hear and youre going to ignore this advice. So do what every beginner does:

Play the Sicilian and KID.

Memorize the moves and have no understanding of why you play those moves.

But at least have fun evil

Scicilian? I thought that’s too hard, is it? I’d recommend French for slow games, and e5 for blitz timed games and for white e4 if it’s a fast game and d4 if it’s a slow game. D4 needs alot of calculation and you knowing what to do in positional situations and e4 is alot more aggressive, but the lines are shorter because of cca, but you have to know what your plan is in every situation and you can learn that in this blog

A new update on me putting bullet points, bolded text, italicized text, underlined text, both/all in the annotated games part section so keep in tuned for that because editing it takes alot of time. And if you’re wondering I was the author of the blog mentioned in the link.

If you want to play the Scicilian you have to learn complex lines of theory and I’m not talking about the moves that you’ll probably memorize I’m talking about understanding the moves in the Scicilian and understanding the middlegame after the Scicilian and if you can’t do that then I wouldn’t recommend because it will take alot of time to study it especially when you have work or other things to do and you’ll have to calculate alot of lines too.

Its obviously way to advanced for beginners. But they dont want to hear that and will attempt to play it POORLY anyway. How many times a day is this questions asked?

Experience has taught me that the ones that ask this same question over and over only want to be told what they want to hear, and not what they need to hear.

If someone wants to think that openings will solve all of their problems in chess then let them study openings.

I appreciate all the replies, being honest I mostly play my games when drunk or not involved so I don’t need a critique on my games, was more just looking for openings people enjoy as i’ve only found enjoyment with one. Over the board on top
