where can I get a list of all the openings?

benedictus

I don't know if such a list exists.

BTW do you just want a list or do you want something to study all the openings. If it's to study, I reccommend the book Modern Chess Openings by Nick De Firmian. It includes all the main openings as well as many less used ones.

Thanks!

Well is there a place where I can study some more common openings?

http://www.chess.com/openings/  (only first few moves - premium members can access more in-depth). To study, book is the best - MCO as recommended earlier. MCO can also be bought online - 2nd hand is cheap.

Cheapest book so far I have found is Basic Chess Openings (kingpawn) and More Basic Chess Openings (queen-pawn, etc) by Gabor Kallai - 2nd hand online is a few dollars only.

If there's a question you have on a specific opening line that isn't thoroughly analyzed in the book, you can always post a new topic here!
