Playing the caro gives no opportunity to win for black??? 😂😂So karpov, Alireza, Navara, Howell never existed?? Also some lines that have been shown here are trash. Nobody who has any idea of the caro plays like this. Every opening can be boring or aggressive depending on who plays it.

Yes! Some of those lines I thought were kinda goofy, but I didnt say anything cuz I am low elo.

Funny thing is that Karpov gave it up because he kept losing when he used it
but in general if white just plays well in the caro kann he doesnt even fear losing, compare that to the french or sicilian or any hypermodern opening really and you will see the difference
Overrated: Sicilian (GM Dr. Nunn). King's Indian Defense (GM Shankland).
Underrated: QGA. Philidor's Defense.
Philidor sucks. I agree with everything else though.
Sicilian is good, just slightly overrated.

Making it into an Italian, except that Black has his bishop inside the pawn chain.
So while theoretically it fails to impress, practically I find it to be good (not everybody knows the Kasparov trick).
