For black Philidor 1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 d6, or the modern move order 1 e4 d6 2 d4 Nf6 3 Nc3 e5

For white Saragossa 1 c3

Nothing wrong with a passive/defensive playstyle. Defense wins! Of course one must also be able to attack. The key to success is to know when to switch from defense to offense.

you shouldn't have a passive/defensive play style, of course sometimes you need to defend but you should always try to be active when you can. You can try openings like the pirc or the philidor but when using these openings you have to play with a more aggressive mindset like you usually would and remember to fight for the centre

For White, the King's Indian Attack.

You build up a sort of crouched, judo-like position.

And then pounce on him. Like a savage rabbit.

Here's an over-the-board tournament game (classical time control) against an 1850-rated player.
