Personal Opening- Should I Use?

I, since posting this, have delved deeply into openings...I still like castling queenside, but am more patient...I use Queen's Gambit most of the time, but for a defensive game I sometimes open with my King's Rook's Pawn. It throws off some of the people on my team, even the more experienced ones, and I can still utilize my style (I trade often and hard, and grab middle).

Amazing that Kasparov never thought of this.

I was under the assumption that he was pretty good at chess...maybe it's just me...?
