petrov's skewer opening

I like that. It’s a cool opening, worth looking into. The funny thing is, there is a line (double gambit variation) in which white loses two pawns, but does not have a disadvantage.

also white is only down 1 pawn because its a variation of the classic petrov and white only lost 2 pawns after gaining one

i would like to add that when i played this against someone, i found that the opponent just couldn't catch a break because the attack i was causing was incredibly brutal with multiple mate threats and forks

theres also a theoretical gambit where you take with the knight instead of the queen for a discovered check
I rather like 7.O-O instead.

it's an opening for black that when i played i realized is extremely offensive
That Qe7 and Qxe4 line in the first diagram is very suspicious. The queen is badly placed there, and will lose even more time running to safety. Meanwhile, white will play Be2, then castle, then attack in the center. White is clearly better.
You wrote that the line is "offensive" for black, but the opposite is true. White will be attacking, and black has to defend well to avoid losing the queen and getting checkmated.

the opening is not meant to be the best, but its not bad either, as long as you're not playing against stockfish, black is doing okay in the position, and if you really want to trash on a chess opening, there is a forum for the damiano defense
