Ponziani opening traps

What many of you don't know is that if you play Ponz a Centaur game in the Ponziani, you are being set up.  Ponz has been running engines on these lines in the Ponziani literally for years.  So while you are stumbling along trying to navigate Ponz is trotting out proven lines that are backed up with error free computer assurances.

Perhaps he could try a Chess960 centaur match.

You are full of it. My last Centaur game here, I had White and the opening was 1. d4  d5 2. c4  ef  3. dxe5  d4  The Albin Counter Gambit.

I have NEVER played a centaur game on this site or any other site where I played the WHITE side of the Ponziani. I repeat NEVER!

I played an exhibition centaur match vs a group of strong players on this site. In every game I took BLACK vs the Kings Gambit

I also played a centaur match on this site vs a group of very strong players where I CHALLENGED MY OWN OPENING and played the BLACK side of the Ponziani.  This was resulted a new variation which I had had almost no experience in.

So my centaur games on this site [as far as I can remember] were 1 game where I played White and opened 1. d4

and a whole bunch of games where I played BLACK. [maybe about 18 or so]

Of course I know the White side of the Ponziani, I wrote two books on it [one co authored with Keith Hayward]. Reb was touting a certain defense to the Ponziani and I knew he was wrong and that is why I challenged him.

If he had accepted my challenge it would have been the first time in my life that I had played a centaur game where I opened 1. e4  e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. c3.

Kantifields you are just trying to cause trouble by making a bunch of untrue and misleading statements.

Guys, would you mind it very much if we returned to the thread topic ?

It's about the opening traps in the Ponziani, and I found a lot of the posted traps were new to me and very enlightening. Thank you very much for these Ponz.

As for the disagreement in this thread, I do by no means wish to tell anyone what to say, but you have made your doubts quite clear now. We readers of the thread know about your doubts and your criticism and are able to make up our minds now on what we think about it.

Just repeating that stuff again and again increasingly looks like you're just harrassing the guy now and I would find it sad if this thread got completely derailed.

Once again, I'm by no means trying to tell you what you can or cannot say - I'm just asking nicely to maybe take the disagreement to a seperate thread or PMs or something.

Maybe titled players feel safe against the Ponziani, but to a weaker player like myself these posted traps are a very valuable resource and I couldn't care less where they came from or against whom they were being played because they are well presented and useful to me.

I apologize.

edit:  I have deleted all of my comments.

It's dementia.

I will point out that opponents hanging pieces are not opening traps.

I have won only one game that was a result of an opening trap... and I have already posted it.

The famous one which Ponz has already posted where you promote to a knight on a8 I have won with twice in blitz.

Just to answer two questions:  GFAK means go fly a kite.

To answer the question about what kind of health problems I have which make it impossible to play fast chess.  I do have athritus and cataracts but my main problem is my dementia of now more than 5 years which has slowed down my thinking process.

I am sorry that a couple of people used this forum to attack me and am sorry I responded to them.

Here is another position which frequently comes up and White should get the advantage:  There are also many traps for Black to fall in...

There are a bunch of things your opponent could do wrong while playing the ponziani, which is almost a trap opening. Which ones do you know, would be great to know them all. Here are two of the most infamous, pretty similar though.
