White weakens his kingside and it's harder to play on the white side than black. White doesn't have enough compensation for the pawn though for unrated games it's good practicing one's defensive ability. Defense is basically how to handle inferior positions or the other guy's initiative. Lasker knew what to do in trouble whereas Petrosian knew how to avoid trouble.
