Hi Everyone,

Personally, I love the Queen's Gambit and play it all the time when I'm white. I especially love it when black plays the queen's gambit accepted and they try to keep their pawn. I heard a few times that the Queen's Gambit Accepted is not a true gambit because black cannot maintain the pawn. Therefore, I always look for how to regain power when someone tries to maintain their pawn. I would like this thread to feature only games where people have tried to maintain their pawn, but were unable. Please, queen's gambit lovers, post your games!!!

Here is one game I would like to post that got me thinking again about this topic. It's probably not the best example, but its cool how I chased the king in front of his own castle:

Hypocrism

It takes about 4 moves for black to secure the pawn, and while white keeps putting pressure on the pawn with useful developing moves, black's moves are short-term and weak. So if black does try to keep the pawn, you develop a strong initiative, playing the whole board and not worrying about the material.

I think you should have delayed the development of your knight im favor of axb5, after the recapture you gain a tempo with the developement of your knight, and if they try to defend with their a pawn you have a nice trap Nxb5, and black cannot recapture because of the winning exchange alonf the a file
