^also 2..e5 is a strong way of meeting the e4 variation
Queens Gambit and the Bishop Gambit

I know, but a lot of people I play seem to play e6 for some reason. I presume it's to buffer against bishop eyeing down on the f7 weakspot for black?

well I have read many chess books but that's not the point. The point is that e6 IS often played. I never said that it was a good move. I only justified the reason numerous people play e6.

Well, perhaps then, you could explain the reason numerous players including some grandmasters by the way play that move?

I think that your comments should be put AFTER the move, not before it, because the way you did it makes no sense.

2...e6 is not the most active move but it's surely playable. You'll probably end up in a position where White has a pawn on d5.
Sorry about saying "no sense" in my comment. I just had to puzzle over it and it kind of ruined the challenge to figure out what the next move should be.

Don't worry about it ABS, I would thank you for your comment and I'll try to add comments better next time... <I wasn't addressing you for the 'aggressive' bit.>
I know that you weren't addressing me about the "aggressive" bit. I just wanted to say it because saying "no sense" was a bit rude.
