Just play 2 ... d6 and its already equal OR if you are a sicilian player play 2... c5 and black is again just fine .
Question about French Defence
e5 is a bad move because it breaks many opening principles. Here the idea is that white cannot hold the center properly because of the wasted move.
2 ..d6 immediately attacks e5. I don't think white moves the pawn twice just to exd6, but is practically forced to do it later. After the in between moves 3. Nf3 Nc6 (we do not consider stuff like 3. f4?), white is almost forced to 4. exd6 which is just good for black. Non exd6 lines are bad:
4. d4?! just loses castling rights for white after dxe5. Queens are traded and the e5 pawn is nothing to worry about.
4. Bb5?! is interesting, but bad. 4 ..dxe5, and if 5. 0-0 black just plays Bd7 and is better easily. If white tries other stuff like 5. Nxe5 instead the move is Qd5! forking like all the pieces with huge initiative. White either lose castling rights or a pawn for this.
Does anyone have a line they like to follow in how to get out of this cramped position playing Black:
1) e4, e6
2) e5, ...
It's so annoying when they do this. It really cramps me in when I'm playing this opening that's why I hate this opening because they just can't resist that extra push to e5 and back it up with more pawns. They've gained the spatial advantage immediately.
