Learn exactly how to think in the opening, middlegame and endgame — this is what I teach.
Always blunder-check your moves.
Solve tactics in the right way.
Analyze your games.
Study games of strong players.
Learn how to be more psychologically resilient.

Get a coach if you can.

I was stuck for a bit, but now I’m 1200!!! (Blitz). Here’s what I do: I play 3 min, play openings I know well, and do some lessons on attacking without sacs. Plus I usually don’t resign bc there’s a chance to draw or even win in time scrambles and stuff.

What do you do to TRY to improve?

... because just playing Blitz will take you forever to get better. Like it or not, chess involves thinking. And there's no time to think in blitz.

Do you analyze all your games? - with your OWN brain, I mean. Not with the computer.

I feel like the ops issue is the one game a day blitz is incredibly useful actually just depends on the person and how you use it

As long as you don't completely autopilot in blitz it doesn't really matter at all after around 1000-1600

1200-1400 I think is good enough to start playing blitz

And tactically his puzzles rating is fairly high at his level so I'm not sure how much rapid would help he should focus on positional play which comes from analyzing and trying new things

Maybe u can take the chess personality quiz and learn the openings and other things suggested?
