Hi, I am semi new to the chess seen and have been playing quick chess on the site. I found that i win more of these then i do anything else. My only question is... Does anyone know any good traps or openings when playing 1 minute chess?

Just play psychotically aggressive lines that force your opponent to burn his clock looking for even a decent move. Remember => You're not trying to trap him ... with 1-min clocks, you just need to take him to openings where the natural looking moves (which he'll play on instinct) will get him clobbered. The weaker ones will get trapped, but against the stronger ones, you'll see a mighty lot of "clock burning" taking place. :)

Some examples:

As White : Danish/Goring Gambits etc.

As Black : Scandinavian, Albin, Englund etc.

The King's Gambit is a good way to throw off your opponent in 1 minute chess (I'm 1500+ in quick). I wouldn't reccomend it as much in blitz or long games though, as it is sort of a dubious move. Also in 1 minute games, an Nxf7 sacrifice is always unexpected. Here's one of my recent games (from yesterday actually). It's not a one minute game, it's a blitz 6 minutes, but it's still a good example.

As white, play very aggressive openings because your opponent will spend more time thinking about his replies.

As black, play conservative openings, like the pirc because you will spend less time on the opening and force your opponent to think a little longer on how to attack you.
