It is a beautiful opening leading to exciting games. My go to against e4 as many white players don’t like, or feel comfortable, facing it. Like any opening, it won’t win you a game, but it is solid, playable and quite forcing for black - it can take the white initiative away. I’ve won v much stronger players with it, both here and over the board in club chess with long time controls. The theory isn’t anything like as complicated as for a lot of other respectable openings either. I’d recommend it - it is exciting to play, quite aggressive and it was good enough for a lot of great players, usually as an alternative to other e4 openings. Fischer played it, so it can’t be that bad (and I reckon he was better than anyone on this site)

I played a game featuring the alekhine and my opponent just blundered and got checkmated in like,5 moves.I personally don’t like the alekhine but I still think it is a solid opening.

I also think playing the alekhine is a bit rash , because you are giving the centre to white, allowing white to attack where you are trying to gain space.

But still,it is still a fun opening to learn when you are at an intermediate level.
