Refuting 1. d4 2. Bf4

I have a friend who is equally weak as me and plays this opening every time he has white unless I make 2. Bf4 impossible. What is the best response to it as black on my first two moves, and what sort of plan should I be establishing in the opening? Thanks.

I have not had any problems against him, I am just curious what the best response is. Thank you for your variations.

1.d4 e5 and 1.d4 g5 both make 2.Bf4 quite a terrible move. However, they also both lose a pawn.
