I am testing out a repitoire as black, I learnt it from IM Andrews over as chess cube.

vs. d4

Old Benoni (c5) 2 .. g6

Modern Defence QP Fiancetto

Grunfeld

vs. e4

Sicilian Hyperaccelerated Dragon (..c5 2. f3 g6)

Sicilian Hyperaccelerated Petrydactyl

Modern Defence KP Fiancetto (2 ..c5 or 2 ..Bg7)

Robatsch Defence

The opening is based around three moves: c5, g6 and Bg7. The goal of the opening is to put as much pressure on the long diagonal as possible. It allows for the move of Qa5 (or Qa5+ in QP games) and from there I can play tactics on the b pawn.

It also exploits players who prefer bishops, as it ties the queen bishop down to the defence of the queen pawn. Also it is novel, not alot of players take time to study the obscure variations.

What do you guys think?

but the question is, when to play c5 first and when to play g6 first.

can someone tell me what the Pterodactyl is? never heard of that one before

i think that this is too much. i don't play the sicilian defense, i always play e5. Whatever, Why have you two sicilian variations ? choose one, dragon, accelerated dragon, najdorf and always play it ! once you manage the different attack you can start learning a new variation, isn't it?

idem about d4, you play grunfeld but no king indian ?! you can force your opponenent in a grunfeld, always play the grunfeld!

unless you master those openings...

so thats the pterodactyl:) i think i prefer the accelerated dragon because if white plays the standardplans with castle long and attack you get instant equality with d5 which many is no prepared for at our level
