Reti Ideas

Hello there, i started checking out the Reti opening and it's different variations when i first achieved 900 elo but i still haven't used it in any of my games, however i do know a couple of things and i should be able to answer your questions (i think).
So first of all, yes the Reti opening can transpose into not only the fianchetto but also the king's indian attack, queen's gambit the ruy lopez and many other openings, so to answer your question i feel like the Reti is a little different than the other regular openings since instead of occupying the center with your pawns, you try to attack the center with your minor pieces (knights and bishops) first then go for a short castle right after putting pressure on the key squares like e5 etc.. Other than that, just try to be solid and yeah that's about all i know so good luck man lol.

If you want specific lines, there are a few ways the game continues after c4. Black either plays dxc4, transposing into a bit of a QGA, or d4 which is relatively unexplored. After 2...d4 3.e3, either Nc6 or c5 are playable. After 3...c5 4. b4 is interesting, and 3...Nc6 4. exd4 Nxd4 5. Nxd4 Qxd4 6. d3 is also interesting where white tries to liberate the center with d4.
