The Reti is sound if you know what you are doing. The Reti can go into a KIA which I like.

I've been tricked a few times with transpositional things. When people who know 1.d4 very well add 1.c4 it can be difficult to get what you want out of the opening. (Of course, these players were just better than me anyway).
Objectively black should equalize "easily" but at lower levels this isn't a problem. Another advantage of the Reti is structure and general strategic ideas are more important than move order.
