Or you could just get better at chess. I imagine if you were able to beat these openings you hate so much (i.e. passive/garbage QP openings like the Stonewall and Colle that you mentioned) then you wouldn't complain about seeing them all the time because you would know how to handle them.

Instead of complaining about the opening, you could play against it and get better...or you can continue to complain.

I have a good record against them.

I play chess for its depth and beauty, not to play one position on a loop for 50 years until I drop dead.

I imagine if you were an interesting person you would feel similar rather than wanting one position every game every time.

I enjoy playing, so it doesnt matter to me what opening moves my opponent makes.

For instance,

Against 1.e4 I play

1.  French - Rubenstein/Classical/Winawer
2.  Caro-Kann
3.  Sicilian - Sveshnikov, Schevingen, Najdorf, Accelerated Dragon
4.  Ruy Lopez - Marshall Gambit, Open Ruy, Chigorin
5.  Two Knights Defense
5.  Petroff

Against 1. d4

1.  QGD
2.  Slav / Semi-Slav
3.  Budapest Gambit
4.  Dutch Defense (Leningrad and Classical)
5.  Albin Counter Gambit
6.  Nimzo-Indian
7.  Queen's Indian

As White I play

1.  Ruy Lopez
2.  Italian (Fried Liver/Max Lange)
3.   Open Siclian - Mainline and Rossolimo/ Closed Sicilian / Wing Gambit
4.  Bird's
5.  Queen's Gambit
6.  King's Indian
7.  English

Even THAT is a limited list.  People who only play one opening on a loop are dull and pathetic.

3 openings got me to USCF A class, so ill take dull, and pathetic any day.

You play 30 openings?

Zigwurst

I doubt you play any of those openings very well

Pulpofeira

What about your first two moves being (almost) always d4 and c4? I know, it looks weird, but I can't help myself...

ANOK1

i like variety too but i think in chess being a jack of all trades means you are a master in none ,

i dont guess i will ever be a master but i know why that is the case

Buff the bishop

Clopin

Maybe playing so many openings is why you're still a class C or lower player.

1. e4 on every board here, and I meet d4 with QGD and e4 with e5.

Number of people who give a f*ck who you block: 0

Anyone else despise people who only play one opening, game after game after game after game?  There are near infinite possibilities, but these worthless scumbags stick to just one, every game, every time, without fail.

I block everyone I see play the same opening 3 times in a row.  If your first two moves are d4 and e3, I will sit there and let my clock run out rather than play another god damn stonewall or colle.

What about variety offends you boring, lifeless one-system sissies?

Worthless scumbags? Please dont speak slanderously about your fellow Americans. Your raging anger puts shame on you and your America! Like America's freedom so every player has the right to choose their opening without your scurrilous tirade. I won't stoop to calling you a Capital Jerk!

I don't disagree with you, but I really must say that you exajurate somewhat.

My friend whom I play regularly chess with over the board also plays the same opening every time, which tends to get boring. Therefor I mix up my responses to his 1.e4.

My friend who I play online  standard chess with also opens the same way over and over again, some hippo-ish kind of thing but all of our games are fun and I don't have a problem with it.

I advise you to play 1.a4 or 1....h5 against the players you're talking about ,in that manner they 'll have to adapt their opening to yours.
