Same thing every game

I said giving up a fianchettoed bishop is USUALLY bad, since the pawn advance weakens the position. I wasn't strictly talking about your game.

Great! There are always exceptions...

They are system openings that can be played against virtually anything, which appeals to small minded monkeys who don't want variety or to learn, but want the exact same game over and over until they finally die.

Many, many players, much better and more knowlegdeable than you, play and enjoy the complexities that arise from systems.

You have forgotten the idea is to win, and if a person wins by obtaining better positions through a thorough understanding of an opening or system, more power to them.

You are doomed to mediocrity.

Wins are wins, regardless of how they're achieved. Laughing I don't care if I always play 1. d4, if I always play the Ruy Lopez, or if I try various openings.

Well, Gshimmy, at my current standard rating, I don't consider myself strong enough to complain about people who are still trying to master a system. Maybe if you mastered a system, you would not have such a low standard rating. You know, maybe you actually aren't a superior person to all those folks you're complaining about. You obviously lack the ability to force them to alter their openings.

Anyone else despise people who only play one opening, game after game after game after game?  There are near infinite possibilities, but these worthless scumbags stick to just one, every game, every time, without fail.

I block everyone I see play the same opening 3 times in a row.  If your first two moves are d4 and e3, I will sit there and let my clock run out rather than play another god damn stonewall or colle.

What about variety offends you boring, lifeless one-system sissies?

In a way, I agree with you... I get tired of seeing 1. e4 most all the time on another site and come here to get games with a preset first move (usually d4).

As for  the d pawn specials, they will always be around because they seem to offer easy middlegame positions and the hope of a quick or no-study-required win.  I play the London at times for variety, but definitely not every game.  It's tough to play these passive openings against the KID, though!

Maybe some players get stuck in a rut and don't feel they can escape these type openings (KIA included) -- I tried to play the Colle,  Stonewall, and Torre for years thinking I was so clever-- then went to the BDG so i could crush all before me--let's just say it didn't go well!  Always side stepped 1. d4 2. c4 as being too esoteric or too demanding or strange--- would run back to the Colle or BDG or KIA to be in my safe zone-- brought alot of disappointment and wasted alot of time on these openings!!

If you play the Sicilian, get ready for ... all those d*** anti-sicilians-- learned this one the hard way, also!  And be ready for the ever present 1. e4  c5 2. Bc4 variation!

Same way with the French and the hated exchange variation -- not very aggressive-- but always there as a possibility to be dealt with!

I always thought playing the KID or Old Indian against the d pawn specials would be the way to go-- the pawn at d6 blunts White's desire to get an iron grip on e5-- but that's something every player has to figure out for themselves.

There are many more of these type scenarios --- "I can't stand this opening or that variation"-- you've got to let your contempt for them motivate you to try and annihilate players who play these "chuck and duck" openings, as I like to call them!!

The Sicilian contains TOO much theory!

Must be bots or cheating humans. I face the exact opening that I've lost in 5 times in a row with different opponents. Odds are very unlikely I would play a bunch of humans that would all do that. Site is full of cheats
